Cast iron motor housing parts, manufactured using the lost foam casting process.

Cast iron motor housing is the core load-bearing component of industrial motors. Gray cast iron HT200 / HT250 is commonly used, and ductile iron QT450 / QT500 can be selected for heavy-duty models.

Gray cast iron features excellent vibration damping, good thermal conductivity and stable rigidity. It suppresses vibration and noise during motor operation and guarantees the concentricity of stator and rotor. Such castings are widely applied to YE/YE3/YE5 series general motors, variable frequency motors, pump motors and construction machinery motors.

Key quality control points: prevention of misrun on thin cooling fins, porosity, burn-on, shrinkage porosity and distortion. PT penetrant testing and UT ultrasonic testing are available for critical areas, complying with the dimensional tolerance specification of ISO 8062.

Lost Foam Casting, also known as Evaporative Pattern Casting (EPC), is an advanced green casting technology.

1. Pattern fabrication:	Produce expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam pattern matching the component geometry, assemble patterns into a cluster with sprue, runners and risers.
2. Coating:	Dip the foam cluster into permeable refractory slurry, then fully dry to form a protective refractory layer.
3. Molding:	Place the coated pattern cluster into the flask, fill with unbonded dry sand and vibrate for compaction; maintain vacuum to stabilize the sand mould.
4. Pouring:	Pour molten metal into the gating system. The foam pattern vaporizes and decomposes under high temperature, and the gaseous products escape through coating and sand. Molten metal replaces the foam cavity.
5. Shakeout & finishing:	After cooling and solidification, shake out the sand, remove gates and risers, clean and inspect the casting.
